From their website: "We are a family operated organic farm that grows 4 acres of a wide variety of vegetables and about 20 plus acres of fruit trees such as mango, avocado, lychee, bananas, papayas, etc. We sell our produce to farmers markets from Kapa’a to Waipa, and serve restaurants and health foods stores from Lihue to Hanalei."

Elanor and Jeff are down-to-earth farmers that grows in accord with mother nature's cycles, meaning they don't use green houses to get extend the growing season. They've been farming organically and sustainably for over 27 years. Jeff's Allis-Charmers tractor has been converted and now runs on solar energy instead of fossil fuels. In addition to selling to restaurants and grocery stores, you can find them at farmers markets in Salem and Portland. Many of these photos were taken with film using my Hasselblad which seemed like a good fit to Persephone's analog philosophy of farming and living.

They are located in Central Oregon and is family owned and operated. Sarahlee Lawrence grew up on the land and started Rainshadow in 2010.

73 imagesCharlie and Paul Reppun have farmed wetland taro in the Waiheʻe and Waiāhole valleys of Oahu for forty years. The majority of their harvest is milled into poi on their farm by Paul, his wife Laurie, and the helping hands of family and friends; it is then sold within the community. They have sold poi and other products at the Peoples’ Open Market Kalihi for decades. Charlie is an active bee-keeper and has an established cacao orchard. Through their examples and mentorship, they have inspired many new farmers.
